Brenda Christine Drake Clarke, age 72 of Wallace, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022.

Brenda was born July 17, 1950, in Hendersonville, NC, a daughter of the late James Erskine and Burnize Lamb Drake. She devoted her life to being a homemaker. Brenda enjoyed camping and riding motorcycles. She was an animal lover. Brenda had a special love for hummingbirds. She enjoyed visiting with family in the mountains. Most of all, Brenda loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Clarke; and a sister, Sharon Graham. Brenda is survived by her special companion of 24 years, Joey “Hawg” McDuffie of the home; a daughter, Marla Barbee (Brent) of Rockingham, NC; a sister, Connie Morgan of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren, Thomas James Barbee and Michael Anthony Barbee; bonus children, Joey McDuffie, Jr. (Sarah) of Florence and Kim Hayes of Bennettsville; nephews, Ray Lawing, Duane Graham (Mackenzie), and Matthew Morgan (Kayla); special great nephew and niece, Elijah and Emma Morgan; a very special sister cousin, Tina Allman; many bonus grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; and several other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Rogers Cemetery in McColl. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel.
