Charles Ray Herndon, 49, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022, after a brief illness.

Born September 7, 1973, in Bennettsville, SC, he was a son of Prentiss Harold Herndon, Sr. and the late Ida Mae Strickland Herndon. Charles enjoyed working in the yard, watching wrestling, and joking around. Charles loved taking care of his parents.

Surviving are his father, Prentiss Harold Herndon, Sr. of Bennettsville; brother, Prentiss Harold Herndon, Jr. and wife Angel K. of Effingham; sisters, Bobbie Jo Herndon of McColl, Linda Kay Haithcock and husband Justin of Bennettsville; niece, Bridgett Kubas (Brad); nephews, Zackary Quick and Trussie Herndon; great nieces, Bria Kubas and Britton Kubas; great nephew, Briggs Kubas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Mae Strickland Herndon.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Burroughs Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Rogers Cemetery in McColl, SC. A visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Burroughs Funeral Home.
