Lois Caulder Rouse

Lois Caulder Rouse, 89, of Florence, SC, formerly of Bennettsville, SC, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at her home in Florence.

Born December 16, 1933, in Wadesboro, NC, she was a daughter of the late Sim and Hattie Taylor Caulder. She was a retired Switch Board Operator with Southern Bell. Mrs. Rouse was a member of West Florence Church of God. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, ice cream, watching westerns, and singing with her twin sister Loyce. She loved church, singing in the church, her cat (Onyx), and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gus Travis Rouse; sisters and brothers.

Mrs. Lois is survived by her daughter, Jessica Rouse Williams and husband Dennis, of Bennettsville; grandchildren, Andy Austin (Lisa), Josh Austin and Dustin Bruce (Hayley); great grandchildren, Travis Austin, Jaden Austin, Braelynn Bruce and Aiden Bruce.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Burroughs Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. just prior to the service at the funeral home.
