Willie Edith (Goodwin) Boan

Willie Edith Goodwin Boan, 90, passed away March 8, 2023, in Sarasota, Florida. Born September 5, 1932, in Marlboro County, she was a daughter of the late Frank G., Sr. and Aggie “Nora” Bundy Goodwin.

Mrs. Willie Edith was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bennettsville and was a graduate of Fletcher Memorial High School. She was a former head cashier with A & P and retired as a bank teller with Wells Fargo. She enjoyed the shopping channel “QVC” and going to church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leroy Boan, brothers, Frank G. Goodwin, Jr., James A. Goodwin and John Jennings Goodwin, sisters, Nora Alice McDuffie and Mildred Irene Gray, half-sisters, Hazel Peele, Margaret Shiels, Anna Mae Shiels and Martha Thurmond.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Clyde, Jr. and Mimi Erwin, granddaughter and her husband, Alicia Erwin and Paul Bolinger, sister-in-law, Elise Goodwin, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church, with a committal service to be held immediately following at Bright-Stubbs Cemetery on Highway 79.
